Desert Festival 2024: Project Seed Opening Event: Timepiece and CRISÁLIDA
Event description
Join us for the grand opening of two new works by inspiring homegrown artists. Places are limited, so make sure you register to welcome these two impressive Project Seed artworks into fruition.
CRISÁLIDA Opening: 6pm-8.30pm
Raise a glass for the opening of Ash Musk, Ivan Trigo Miras and Anna Whittaker's immersive and intimate video work, CRISÁLIDA.
Reflective by nature, CRISÁLIDA is a moment of calm in a rapidly shifting world.
This immersive installation wrestles with our relationships to time, intimacy, landscape and money through the lens of the body, entangling the artificial and natural, and the human desire to see, shift and control the future.
The first collaboration between dance artist Ashleigh Musk and video artist Ivan Trigo Miras, CRISÁLIDA blends video, sound and the body to create a space for introspection.
Timepiece Performance: 6.30pm sharp.
Join Betty Sweetlove, Jasmine Story, Sarah Moore and Miriam Nicholls for the time bending site-specific performance of Timepiece in the grounds of Olive Pink Botanic Gardens.
Timepiece is an ethereal exploration of the different types of time that govern our lives. Body time, deep time and clock time. The audience will be seated in the set for this immersive theatre show, that compares the objective experience of clocks with the subjective experience humans have of time.
Free via registration (limited capacity).
