Design A Life That You Love with The Purpose Purpose/Blackfor30 ❤️
Event description
What am I going to do with my life?
This is one of the big questions that students face, yet in most cases, it is one they don't answer until they're much older. Instead they follow the path of least resistance, doing something they think they should based on someone else's dreams.
Based on years of experience running programs in high schools and large corporations, The Purpose Project will be running a new interactive, evidence-based workshop on the 29th June to run students through the future of work, 🚀and connect students to a mission that’s meaningful to them 😊 and consequential to the world.
During a morning of engaging activities, students will learn how they can connect the dots between their values (what's important to them), strengths (what they're good at) and what the world needs. We then help them prototype a future life and career where they're excited to wake up every day because they are doing something that aligns with their pupose (and which you can make money from!)
WHAT WILL STUDENTS GET FROM THE WORKSHOP?
Students wil leave with a better understanding of themselves: their values, strengths and motivations, the future of work, and their place within in. Most importantly, they will design future lives that they can build with clear next steps to take as early as the next day to start living the life they have designed and dreamed of.
- Module 1: Story of You 😃 - Students will explore what success means and learn about limiting beliefs that may be holding them back. They will explore their values, talents, interests and ways they can impact others through interactive and reflective exercises and videos.
- Module 2: Connecting the Dots 👉👈- Students will learn to link their talents, interests, values with external market demands i.e. What the world needs. They will then have a chance to connect their identity quadrants and form their “Future Lives”, sharing this plan with each other.
- Module 3: Prototyping Paths 🔨- Students will learn about design thinking and prototyping; They will brainstorm in groups and find the quickest path to their “Multiple Lives Plan”. They will also learn about “Informational Interviews” and learn how to start taking action towards their plans.
- Module 4: Overcoming Obstacles ⛈️- Students will learn about common beliefs and obstacles in their way to achieving their goals, and uncover how to spot and overcome these obstacles through an evidence-based psychology framework. We will end the workshop by summarising learnings and giving them an opportunity to share and connect with each other.
