Design accessible course content to empower students
Event description
Learn how to make your MyUni pages, video calls, and diagrams more accessible by removing barriers for all students, including those with visual or auditory differences, and those who are neurodivergent.
Learn innovative techniques to help students with low vision, students that are hard of hearing, and neurodiverse students. We’ll cover tools like DesignPLUS, UDOIT, Echo360, Teams/Zoom, and Word/PowerPoint.
Many of the techniques we’ll discuss can benefit all students. For example, video transcripts aren’t just for students that are hard of hearing – they also help students in noisy conditions, students learning the English language, and students that want to find the right part of a video for revision.
The workshop contains practical, easy-to-implement advice, as well as demonstrations of specific tools.
