In this bundle, purchase two courses and save a total of AUD $320:

  • Designing for digital accessibility
  • Conducting user research with people with disabilities

 

Details:

  • Duration: 8 x 2-hour sessions over 8 non-consecutive weeks
  • Individual registration: AUD $1,120 ex GST

Course 1: Designing for digital accessibility

Duration: 5 x 2-hour sessions over 5 weeks

Want to make sure anyone can enjoy the beauty of your designs? Explore UI and interaction design principles that go beyond WCAG to create barrier-free experiences.

You will learn about:

  • Improving readability using colour, layout and spacing
  • How responsive design supports UI customisation
  • Accessible alternatives for media and images
  • Structuring content for easy navigation
  • Designing for keyboard, pointer and voice interaction
  • Creating accessible forms

Knowledge level
  • No prior accessibility knowledge is required.
Technology requirements

We use online tools such as FigJam to work together during this course. You won't need to install or create an account to use these tools.

 

Course 2: Conducting user research with people with disabilities

Duration: 3 x 2-hour sessions over 3 weeks

Would you like your research to reach more people? Learn about diverse users in the digital world, and gain the confidence to do user research and usability testing with people with disability.

In the final session you will put your new skills to the test by running a series of mock user testing sessions with real people with diverse disabilities.

You will learn about:

  • Who to include in your research and how to recruit the participants
  • Considerations for accessibility communication, inclusive language and session accessibility
  • Skills and knowledge to conduct a successful session
  • Planning and running a usability session for participants with disability
  • Reporting on the session outcomes, differentiating between accessibility and general usability

Cancellations

If notification of cancellation is received by Intopia:

  • More than 7 days prior to the event, a full refund of your registration fee
  • Less than 7 days prior to the event registration fees will not be refunded

In the event that Intopia has to cancel a course, you will be informed and offered either a full refund OR transfer to the next instance of the course.
