Design for a Just World 2026
Description
Returning for its third year, Design for a Just World brings together researchers, practitioners, industry, and communities to share ideas, perspectives, and conversations about how design and research can contribute to a fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable future.
This year’s program explores social challenges that intersect with people’s everyday lives and experiences. Sessions will focus on housing justice for older women, including the role of research partnerships in developing housing solutions; textiles and fashion justice, examining policy, responsibility and the future of the sector; disability and health technology, including digital citizenship, inclusive technologies and patient experiences; and gendered health and wellbeing, bringing together perspectives on menopause, menstruation, sport, toilets and sanitation.
Across these diverse areas, a common question connects the program: how can design, research and collaboration help us better understand and respond to complex social challenges?
Through presentations, panel discussions and conversations, Design for a Just World 2026 creates a space to share perspectives, learn from one another and consider new possibilities for collaboration and impact.
The event will conclude with refreshments and networking, providing an opportunity to continue the conversations, build connections and explore future collaborations.
