Event description

Does your volunteering organisation or group have a challenge you haven't been able to solve? Something you're struggling with that impacts your organisation? We are running a new program that supports people working with volunteers to come up with new ways of tackling old challenges.

The Design Thinking Program aims to help volunteer organisations to adapt their operations after COVID-19, to effectively recruit, support and manage a more flexible workforce. It will embed leadership and resilience in organisations by supporting people to approach challenges and problems differently through an action learning process.

In this first workshop - 'Change Maker and Design Thinking' we will give everyone a full overview of the program and the commitments involved, as well as discussing the Design Thinking Framework and how you can apply it to your organisation/group.

This program will support leaders in the sector to be bold in their actions, learn and grow from failure and build solutions through rapid prototyping and person-centred design. It will be a 12-month program where you will gain knowledge through workshops, and be supported to implement new solutions to old problems.

The volunteering sector is faced with much change and without bold leadership and a chance to challenge and trial different ways of working we will not see the adaptation needed.

This process will encourage the sector to consider and test new ways of tackling complex and complicated problems through practical trials of innovative projects / initiatives.

To help you understand a little bit more about Design Thinking here is a great podcast and article that will give you a basic overview of the concepts and applications.
