Designing Better Growth: Canberra's Urban Renewal in Action

Ahead of World Cities Day, join the ACT City Renewal Authority for a guided walk exploring the transformation of Canberra's civic heart.

From Garema Place and the City Spine to new cultural facilities, private development and transport investment, discover how government leadership and landscape-led design are revitalising public spaces, attracting investment and strengthening civic life.

The 20-minute walk will conclude at AECOM Canberra offices for afternoon tea and the official launch of Urban Week 2026.

This event is part of Urban Week 2026, is a shared initiative of the Australian Institute of Architects, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council, Committee for Capital Cities, Council of Capital City Lord Mayors, National Shelter, Planning Institute of Australia and Property Council of Australia.

Urban Week 2026 is a national initiative bringing together government and industry leaders to advance the conversation about the future of our cities.
