Designing change through cross-cultural collaboration
Event description
Design transcends many borders: social, geographical, cultural. Design teams are increasingly diverse and multidimensional, yielding more interesting, robust and meaningful design. How does this work in practice and education? How can designers work effectively and build trust in multi-level diversity: cross-cultural, geographically-dispersed, different disciplines? The panel shares experiences of collaborative design experiences and explores opportunities, benefits for design and the designer, as well as the risks and realities of conflict and communication challenges. We will hear of strategies for designers that can be translated across multiple contexts and how trust is central to cross-cultural design collaboration. |
