Dessert Boys Halloween Ball

Nevada County’s premier gonzo country band went underground after they played the final show of their World Tour of Nevada County at the Crazy Horse back in April. It was one of those nights where no one knew what was about to unfold and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the year. The warmth of the vibe in the room could not have been more exceptional. Now they’re finally resurfacing to play Dessert Boys Halloween Ball just when we need them most! What to expect: Two full sets of spooky country played by costumed warlocks, wizards, witches & weirdos bookended & bisected by DJ sets from KVMR DJs Angel Food Cake April & friends. 

Dessert Boys are a Nevada County country band mining the slag heap of American music for strange ores, obscure gems, and sublime treasures. While there is an authentic expression of the genre’s foundational elements, this definitely isn’t country in the traditional sense. This is evolved, groovy country, featuring euphoric interpretations of tasteful nuggets emerging at just exactly the perfect moment.

The band features Whipcream Willy on guitar, Apple Pie Anna on guitar, Butterscotch Bill on guitar, Barry Cobbler on... you guessed it: guitar, Shortcake Shana on bass guitar, and Drumstick Dave on drums. In other musical incarnations, members of the band recombine & reform into many other projects including Shannon & the Clams, La Luz, & Anna Hillburg, amongst others.
