Developing the next ACT Climate Change Strategy: Online information session for businesses

The ACT Government has opened community consultation on the ACT Climate Change Strategy 2026–35, which will guide the Territory’s climate action over the next decade.

The new strategy aims to strengthen community resilience, reduce emissions across key sectors, and support the transition to a low‑emissions future. Insights from Canberrans will help inform priorities, programs and policies that respond to our changing climate.

The consultation explores several key focus areas:

• Building strong, connected and resilient communities

• Supporting people and groups most vulnerable to climate impacts

• Creating opportunities for businesses, innovation and jobs

• Preparing the workforce for a low‑emissions future

• Improving active and public transport and reducing transport emissions

• Protecting and enhancing the natural environment

• Ensuring homes, infrastructure and essential services are climate‑ready.

In this session for businesses, we will:

·        Provide information for businesses on what the ACT Government is doing and how we are developing the next Climate Change Strategy

·        Invite you to share your views and help shape the ACT’s next phase of climate action.
