Yeshe's Bio:
Hailed by the Sydney Morning Herald as “Groundbreaking roots musician" and “Triumph of multiculturalism”, German born Yeshe is a true global musical gipsy, heavily inspired by his many years spent in Africa, with uplifting mesmerising songs that transcend all labels and boundaries. A world traveller since his teens, Yeshe especially became interested in traditional African instruments, in particular the ‘Mbira Dzavadzimu’ of the Shona people of Zimbabwe and the ‘Kamele Ngoni’ of the Bambara people ofBurkina Faso (which both became the centerpiece of his music), each time going straight to the source to immerse himself deep into the culture. Since releasing several award winning albums , Yeshe has been in high demand on the international touring circuit, whilst also collaborating with the likes of Canadian Blues legend Harry Manx and Australian Roots icon Xavier Rudd amongst others.
Inspired by a recent healing crisis to return to Buddhist studies and practices using mantras for personal healing his music has entered a new phase as his spiritual and musical paths merge more deeply. Mantras that have been significant to his healing have been reconfigured with his accompanying Kamele Ngoni and Mbira, creating a distinct African influenced rhythm and tonality.
