Diabetes NZ Auckland Youth: Online Education - Sick Day Management
Description
Diabetes NZ Auckland Youth are hosting an education session in conjunction with the Starship diabetes paediatric team on managing 'sick days'.
This session is for people living with, or parents/carers of a person living with type 1 diabetes. Winter is fast approaching, and the inevitable higher rates of illness. When a person living with type 1 diabetes becomes unwell this can create issues with blood glucose control and overall diabetes management, especially if the person is out of routine eating and/or vomiting.
To learn more about how to manage these times, we welcome Claudia Swan (Paediatric Endocrinologist) and Barishna Zareh (Diabetes Nurse Specialist) to facilitate this educational session. This event is open to all around the motu/country that live with or manage type 1 diabetes.
This is a free event. However, donations are always appreciated to support our upcoming events (via donation button on ticket page).
Any queries please contact shantelle@diabetes.org.nz / 027 2256569.
