Diabetes NZ Auckland Youth: Parents & Carers Catch Up

Come along and meet up with other parents/carers that are going through this diabetes journey too. Whether your child is newly diagnosed, or you're many years in, whether you have a youngster or youth, we are here for each other and understand the day-to-day life as a career of someone with type 1 diabetes. Meeting others in the same boat can be of immense support for both newbies and seasoned diabetes carers, as we know, diabetes is not a 'straight line' as ages and stages change. An ear to hear us, new perspectives, ideas and advice, peer to peer support, even motivation to battle carer burnout or simply being able to talk openly and have genuine acknowledgement can be impactful. All parents and carers are welcome, and we appreciate those coming along to support and guide newer parents in the diabetes community too.

What: A casual meetup of adults that have a dependant with diabetes
When: Sunday 27th October 2:15 pm
Where: Casablance, Sylvia Park Shopping Centre, 66 Dining Lane, Mount Wellington Highway, Mount Wellington
Who: Parents and carers of children/youth with diabetes
Cost: No event ticket cost but must register. Purchase your own food and drink.

See if you can have the afternoon to yourself to have some time off; perhaps a partner, family or friend can care for your child(ren). However, we know it can be hard to find care for children with diabetes, so if this would otherwise prevent you from coming along, please email to let me know, and register a separate 'ticket' to help with number expectation and cafe accommodation. Please also advise if you cannot make it after booking your ticket. Thanks.
