Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth: Waka Ama Regatta

This event is for youth with diabetes, and their families, from the Nelson, Tasman, Marlborough and West Coast areas.

Join Diabetes NZ Nelson Youth to celebrate Diabetes Action Month 2023!

Come and have a go at Waka Ama Paddling with the Maitahi Outrigger Canoe Club! 

Meet us at the Rocks Road end of Tahunanui Beach:

10-12am - Waka Ama lesson & on the water discovery 

12-12.30pm - Lunch (bring your picnic)

12-2pm - Race time

Families will be put into teams closer to the date for the morning lessons and races will be mixed. We will have beach activities running for time off the water (giant games, frisbee, sandcastle building and more!). We will have stock of our *Eyes on Diabetes* fundraising bracelets available for purchase - $5 each, cash sales only.

While spaces in the waka are limited, we'd love to see you all throughout our beach day! Please register even if you intend on only coming for a short time and follow up with an email to let us know when to expect you. For further information please contact amanda@diabetes.org.nz.
