Diabetic Emergencies Millicent 20-10-2026

This session will cover assessment and management of patients presenting to ED due to diabetic emergency, including DKA, HHS, and Hypoglycaemia.

Outcomes for this workshop includes:

• Diabetic Emergencies

  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis - DKA

  • Hyperosmolar Hyperglycaemic Syndrome

  • Hypoglycaemia

• Pathophysiology

• Recognition

• Principles of management

This program is suitable for ALL staff who work in the Emergency Care Setting.  Particularly Medical Staff, RMO's/JMO's, Associateship in Emergency Medicine Candidates, Nurses, GPs, Career Paramedics, and 3rd/4th year Medical and Nursing Students on placement in the Emergency Department.

Afternoon tea will be provided

Places are limited and priority will be given to individuals who provide Emergency Care in the Limestone Coast Local Health Network.
