RACGP CPD-Accredited Webinar: Diagnosis and Management of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in Primary Care
Event description
This is a RACGP Accredited CPD Activity - Activity ID: 1256291
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is the most common type of autonomic nervous system disorder, with increasing prevalence following the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now recognised as a dominant phenotype in Long COVID. POTS primarily affects women of childbearing age and often presents with complex, multisystem symptoms.
General practitioners and other primary health care professionals are ideally positioned to play a pivotal role in the early recognition, investigation, and management of POTS.
This webinar will:
Outline the underlying pathophysiology and common clinical features of POTS
Review key investigations and how to interpret them in the primary care setting
Discuss first-line non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatment strategies
Share insights into the lived experience of individuals with POTS to support a patient-centred approach to diagnosis and care
The webinar will be delivered by Australian POTS Foundation (APF) CEO and Founder Dr Marie-Claire Seeley and Scientific Chair of the APF Dr Celine Gallagher. They will be joined by an expert POTS cardiologist, Professor Dennis Lau and General Practitioner Dr Peter Del Fante for the Question and Answer session.
This webinar will be held via Zoom. There will be a 30 minute Question and Answer session at the end of the webinar. All questions can be submitted via the Question and Answer button.
The link to join the webinar will be sent via email to the email address you register with one day prior to the event.
