Registrations are now open for the main conference being held in Brisbane on Wednesday 19 November.
Additional events will be held the following day, please see the outlines below for more information on these - noting that our popular Drill Core Facility Workshop at Zillmere will require you to place your name on our waitlist to secure you place.
Register for your conference ticket early and receive updates as the program takes shape.
WEDNESDAY 19 NOVEMBER – DIGGING DEEPER CONFERENCE
Time: 9:00am–4:00pm (Registration open from 8:30am)
Location: The Auditorium, 33 Charlotte St, Brisbane (same venue as last year)
Capacity: 110 attendees
Agenda: Available online
Join us as we showcase the breadth of work undertaken by GSQ over the past 12 months. You can expect to hear talks on regional geophysics, solid geology mapping, mineral systems updates and much, much more. An agenda will be circulated closer to the event which will include presentation topics and speakers.
Digging Deeper is an in-person only event; however, the majority of presentations will be recorded and made available for viewing on YouTube following the event.
An interactive poster display session will shine a spotlight on the fantastic work being undertaken by a host of students and early career researchers.

THURSDAY 20 NOVEMBER OR FRIDAY 21 NOVEMBER – QUEENSLAND MINERAL SYSTEMS, DRILL CORE AND INSTRUMENTS WORKSHOP
Time: 9:00am–4:15pm
Location: Exploration Data Centre, 68 Pineapple Street, Zillmere
Capacity: 30 attendees
Queensland Mineral Systems, Drill Core and Instruments Workshop
Join GSQ at the Exploration Data Centre (68 Pineapple Street, Zillmere) for a hands-on drill core workshop on Intrusion-Related Mineral Systems in North-east Queensland. This year’s program will provide an in-depth overview of Palaeozoic intrusion-related mineral systems, focusing on the diverse intrusion-related gold deposits (IRGS) that define the region’s metallogenic framework.
Participants will have ample opportunity to examine representative drill cores from several key deposits, including Ravenswood, Kidston, Mount Wright, Mungana and Agate Creek, providing a complete depth and deposit-type spectrum from epizonal to mesozonal settings. The selection encompasses a variety of vein, breccia, porphyry and skarn-hosted mineralisation styles that characterise North-east Queensland’s intrusion-related systems.
GSQ will provide multiple geological datasets and analytical outputs that illustrate mineralisation and alteration processes. These include summary drill core logs and interpretations, continuous hyperspectral core scanning results (HyLogger, Minalyzer) and high-resolution elemental maps showing mineral paragenesis at sub-millimetre scales (micro-XRF, TIMA). Participants will also observe instrument demonstrations highlighting GSQ’s analytical capabilities for mineral system characterisation, and will have the opportunity to engage directly with GSQ geoscientists to discuss workflows, datasets and interpretive approaches.
THURSDAY 20 NOVEMBER – GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOOL WORKSHOP
Time: 9:30am–12:30pm
Location: The Auditorium, 33 Charlotte St, Brisbane (same venue as conference)
Capacity: 80 attendees
Resources Industry Generative AI Scoping and Feedback Workshop
Join the Geoscience Information team for an interactive workshop to help shape the future of exploration technology. We’re developing a generative AI tool, inspired by the GSQ Digital Librarian, to give explorers direct access to GSQ industry reports—streamlining data retrieval and analysis. This workshop presents a unique opportunity for industry participants to co-design a production-facing solution tailored to the specific needs of explorers. Join us to help shape a smarter, more efficient future for Queensland’s resource sector.
