Event description

Healthy soils are the foundation of farming. Building soil carbon can have a range of benefits for your farm but your ability to store carbon in the long term can depend on a range of factors like rainfall, soil type and management practices. That’s why we’re bringing Dr Cassandra Schefe and other experts together to answer your questions around soil health.

There’s a lot to dig into with soils so this webinar will look at the science of healthy soils, how to best use soil tests and practical examples of how you can build soil carbon to increase productivity and drought resilience.

Complimenting our Carbon Farming Outreach Program, this is the first of five webinars in 2025, designed to look deeper at carbon farming and how it can complement your on-farm goals for sustainable farming now and into the future. This is part of an ongoing series of events, including free, sector relevant local training – see what’s available near you here.

Submit your questions for the webinar here.

Dr Cassandra Schefe is the Principal Scientist for The Cool Soil Initiative and co-owner of AgriSci, working with farmers across the state to understand how their farming systems impact their soils.
