Learn how systems thinking connects with digital twins: Functional mock-up units are used to analyse, simulate and predict their counterpart’s real-world behaviour. Hear about the use of this technology in the development of a new electric vehicle - from components that were never meant to work together - and in gaining insight into almost anything dynamic; whether it’s an aircraft, city traffic or a population.

With a career in Research & Development, specialised in first-of-its-kind electric and hybrid prototypes at major OEMs and Tier1 suppliers, systems engineer and control systems expert Philip Oefner has extensive experience in the development of complex systems, be it from scratch or as improvement of an already existing product.
