What is Dimensional Modelling?
Dimensional Modelling is an approach to make it easier and faster to store, read, summarize and analyse information in a data warehouse. The concept of Dimensional Modelling was developed by Ralph Kimball and made famous in the book ‘The Data Warehouse Toolkit' (Kimball/Ross, 2013) that established a whole new vocabulary including “facts” and “dimensions”.
