Event description

Doctors For Nutrition and MTM Community Project invite you to an evening of inspiration, education, and connection at our next ‘Dine with a Doc’ dinner.

Join us for a presentation on ‘The Power of Plant-Based Nutrition and Lifestyle Interventions for Preventing Chronic Disease’—an event designed to empower everyone from healthcare professionals to health-conscious community members. You will also be the first to hear about the new MTM Community Project, and about their mission.

When: 6:30pm – 9:30pm, Tuesday, 19th August 2025
Where:
Gear Homestead, 1 Okowai Road, Aotea, Wellington
Price: $50 (includes dinner and non-alcoholic beverage)

At this event, Dr Heleen Haitjema will take you on a journey through the clinical benefits of whole food, plant-based (WFPB) nutrition. Through easy-to-understand explanations of key concepts - such as endothelial dysfunction, intramyocellular lipid accumulation, and calorie density - you’ll discover how WFPB eating can dramatically improve health outcomes and transform lives.

After the presentation, join us for a panel discussion and a Q&A session with Dr Haitjema and Dr Luke Wilson.

The evening continues with a plant-based dinner curated by the chefs from MTM Community Project, served in the elegant setting of Gear Homestead. Enjoy the opportunity to connect and network with leading dietitians, specialists, GPs, and passionate members of New Zealand’s plant-based community.
