A Dinner Conversation with Peter Singer AC

Who are the top five people in the world with whom you'd most like to dine and converse?

We at Lawyers for Animals ('LFA') think that the person journalists accurately label “the world's most influential philosopher"; who is also an extraordinary exemplar of generosity and kindness; and whose insightful and engaging truth-telling inspires hope and positive change; should be very high on the list of ideal dinner-guests. That's why we're so delighted (once more) to present you with the opportunity to enjoy an edifying dinner conversation with effective founder and long-term leader of the international animal rights movement: Laureate Professor Peter Singer AC.

The present event will be held on Friday October 2nd , 2026 from 6-9pm at Khukuri (Nepalese) Restaurant and Bar. At the northern end of Bligh Place, Khukhuri is conveniently located just 3 minutes' walk from Flinders Street Station and myriad other public transport options in Melbourne's City.

Whilst raising funds to support the valuable work for animals undertaken by both Animals Australia and Liberation Sanctuary, each ticket – priced at $70 standard; or $60 for LFA Members (and new applicants) - will entitle our guest to partake in a delicious yet healthy 3-course vegan meal, served banquet-style with a selection of dishes, between facilitated Q&A sessions with Professor Singer, Guests can purchase drinks from Khukuri's bar, which will include a selection of vegan wines.

Since membership of Lawyers for Animals is open to all (not just lawyers) and costs just $30 per year - or $10 per year for full-time students – if you are not yet an LFA Member, please consider applying to support our work by going to: https://lawyersforanimals.org.au/support/ All current LFA Members and all new or renewing applicants whose application (with form and payment) is received before tickets sell-out, will be eligible for the $60 discounted ticket. For full-time students, this effectively means you can gain one year of LFA membership free of charge.

Please note that LFA's first such 'Dinner conversation with Professor Singer' - held just over seven years ago – was a sell-out with a substantial waitlist, and attracted extensive praise from its lucky attendees. So we recommend booking your tickets as early as possible, to avoid the disappointment of missing out.

In his 81st year and with his unique thoughtfulness and perspective on issues; delivered with disarming honesty, informality and courtesy, Professor Peter Singer remains an extraordinarily inspiring and engaging speaker. We hope you can join us for what should be a most enjoyable discussion and meal, which will ultimately benefit animals, too. If you are coming, you may want to bring some cash along to purchase selected merchandise (T-shirts etc) from Animals Australia and Liberation Sanctuary; and some gold coins for raffle tickets.
