Dinner with the Poets at the American Hotel

Every year, we kick off the Poetry Festival with this special fundraising event, and 2026 is no exception! We’re thrilled to announce that, by special arrangement, the 2026 ‘Dinner with the Poets’ will take place at the historic American Hotel and will be prepared by Chef Lee Woolver,

In addition to a special American Hotel dinner, attendees will be able to meet the poets in advance of the public events, and each of the Festival poets, Sherman Alexie, Tina Chang, and Mary Jo Salter  will offer a special reading between courses.

• Cash bar open at 6:00 PM

• Dinner served at 7:00 PM

• Ticket price $90.00 per person (includes dinner and gratuity; drinks extra)

• We will do our best to honor seating preferences:

Entrée Options:

• Coconut Crusted Chicken Breast
  with a Pineapple Curry Sauce

• Jaeger Schnitzel Lightly Breaded Pork Cutlets with
  Braised Red Cabbage & Egg Noodles

• Grilled Vegetables with a Zucchini “Fettuccine”
  Bell Peppers, Tomatoes, Spinach, Red Onion, and
  Herbs and Garlic Vegetarian Sauce

Desert Options:

• Flourless Chocolate Torte with Walnut Crust (GF)

• Golden Maple Layer Cake
