Dino Diggers: A Palaeontology Adventure For Kids

Get ready for a spring school holiday adventure that takes curious kids aged 4 – 11 years old on a journey through time!

Life Rocks is back at Plenty Gorge Park with our consistently SOLD OUT school holiday program - DINO DIGGERS! A hands-on paleontology experience where children go on a time-traveling journey, hundreds of millions of years into the past, exploring ancient landscapes and real life fossils.

Led by qualified geo-paleontologist Diana, this workshop combines real scientific discovery with outdoor exploration, helping kids build confidence, make new friends, and develop life skills while uncovering nature's ancient secrets. A perfect way to get children off screens and outdoors.

What Your Young Explorer Will Experience:

  • Real Fossil Discovery – Handle genuine fossils and bones while learning about ancient creatures that lived hundreds of millions of years ago.

  • Expert Paleontologist Guidance – Learn directly from qualified geo-paleontologist Diana, ask questions, and gain genuine scientific insights.

  • Geological Rock Exploration – Get hands-on with all three rock types in Plenty Gorge's dramatic landscape shaped by ancient volcanic activity, including rare volcanic textures, special metamorphic forms, and gorgeous sedimentary layers.

  • Guided Exploration – Explore the spectacular gorge as your outdoor classroom, where every formation tells a story of Earth's incredible history.

  • Fossil-Inspired Craft Creation – Design and take home your own fossil-inspired artwork as a memento of this prehistoric adventure.

  • Time-Traveling Learning – Journey hundreds of millions of years into the past to understand how geological formations reveal our planet's ancient secrets.
