Event description

This summer holidays we're exploring all things dinosaurs in a series of fun workshops for kids (and their parent helpers).

In our Flying Theropods workshop you can create your own bird-like dinosaur glider, then join in our dinosaur flight challenge.

Get inspired by our ancient (and thankfully extinct) Tweed volcano and build your own erupting volcano using simple science in the Lava Lab workshop.  You can also help us create a giant model of Wollumbin as an active 20 million year old volcano!

Construct your own plastic bottle terrarium from recycled materials, then decorate a dinosaur to inhabit it in our Mini Lost Worlds workshop.

Create an imaginary fossilised dinosaur skeleton in our Dino Bones Workshop.    Then get inspired by the paleo artists in the exhibition  to draw what your dinosaur looked like as a living creature!

Using natural materials like nuts, pods, leaves and sticks create your own unique dinosaur in our Bush Dinosaurs workshop

These workshops are most suitable for ages 5+
$5 per child
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult
Workshops are held in our shaded outdoor courtyard.

About How to Draw a Dinosaur

How to Draw a Dinosaur is more than just an exhibition; it’s a dynamic playground for your own creativity, where the boundaries between fact and artistic interpretation blur, and the past comes alive in vivid detail. The exhibition challenges the notion that only scientists get to envision what dinosaurs looked like, encouraging guests of all ages to let their imaginations run wild and create their own versions of these majestic creatures.
