Event description

In 2020 New Zealand celebrates 45 years of formal relationship with ASEAN. Since 1975 the areas of cooperation and mutual interest have grown and both sides have built a solid partnership. This year also marked history in the NZ-ASEAN relationship in which for the first time ASEAN flag raised at the Parliament Building. In the spirit of stronger relationship-building between NZ and ASEAN, the United Nations Association of New Zealand (UNANZ) will be presenting a Diplomatic Seminar Series: SDGs progress and achievements in South East Asia Region, with a particular focus in Indonesia and Malaysia. 

The event will be held on Tuesday, 20th October 2020 (from 5-6PM) at the Select Committee Room in the NZ Parliament Building. There will be also an option for participating via Zoom Webinar for those who wish to do so. 

Join our panel, which will include HE Mr Tantowi Yahya (Ambassador of Indonesia to New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga), HE Ms Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo (High Commissioner of Malaysia to New Zealand), and James Waite or Sarah Walsh (Unit Manager in the South and South East Asia Division at MFAT).
