Disability Research at UTS Showcase
Event description
The disability research at UTS Showcase runs quarterly. This registration page is for the 1st - inaugural - session of the Showcase.
The aim of the Disability Research at UTS Showcase is to bring together the like-minded and supportive disability researcher community at UTS - to provide an opportunity to share collective wisdom, forge new (or re-kindle) connections, spark collaborations, and explore diverse and innovative ways of working together. A significant portion of the session will be dedicated to working on a tangible outcome for part, or all, of the research community.
Structure:
At each showcase session, 4 members of the disability research community will showcase their research. There will also be a short window to ask questions of each presenter. The second half of the session will be structured around activities to foster collaboration beyond the meeting, and will be guided by your suggestions. Activities might include spitballing a project, working-up a collaborative grant application, developing a community engagement plan, articulating response to government … the list of possibilities is endless. Please indicate as many suggestions as you like during registration, with a comma used to separate the ideas. Topics that are ranked highest will be the focus of the second half of this session and will inform future sessions.
Each session will be hosted by different leaders - Linda Steele and Adel Ali Al-Jumaily will be your hosts for the first one.
If you would like to present at this inaugural session, please let us know your presentation topic when you register. Chosen presenters will be contacted separately by e-mail and will be asked to complete a one page slide.
