Disagreeing Together
Description
We aren’t great at disagreeing with each other. In fact, most often in leftist organising spaces, disagreement leads to people leaving groups, people getting cancelled and generally a doubling down on our position. It’s a problem. But what if we could both remain connected and disagree at the same time? What if we could learn from the arguments that we disagree with? What if we could increase our patience and tolerance for another person’s perspective, which could help us to be more persuasive? Especially when that person is “on our side” in more ways than not. This workshop is about challenging ourselves to be both connected and in disagreement. We believe that this is a critical skill for social change.
