AWSN and Retrospect Labs, is proud to present a unique out-of-school-time experience day as part of our high school program that aims to provide a distinctive and immersive environment for high school girls in NSW (Years 7-10).
This is one of the many exciting AWSN initiatives sponsored by the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD). The AWSN is incredibly grateful for their support, which enables us to continue empowering and inspiring the next generation of women in Cyber Security.

Overview
This experience day is designed to immerse high school girls in the world of cybersecurity through a mix of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and career insights. The program is tailored to different age groups, ensuring that each participant gains relevant knowledge and skills.
Years 7 and 8: Focus on foundational cybersecurity concepts through engaging and interactive workshops
Years 9 and 10: A deeper dive into cybersecurity with a hands-on Capture the Flag (CTF) event, introducing real-world scenarios and incident response principles
Career Talks: The day will also feature talks from cybersecurity professionals, offering students insights into potential career paths and helping them make informed decisions about their futures in this dynamic field.

Who Can Participate?
High school girls in Years 7-10.
No prerequisites, just passion to learn!
Event Details
Date: Friday, 31st January 2025
Time: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (AEDT)
Location: Westpac HQ, 275 Kent Street, NSW 2000.
*Please note that this is face to face event.
What to bring?
- Students must bring their own laptops with the ability to connect to Wi-Fi.
- Students may also bring a mouse and headphones.
- Meals and refreshments will be provided on-site
Registration
Opens: Friday, 20th December 2025, at 10:00 am (AEDT)
Closes: Tuesday, 21st January 2025, at 11:59 pm (AEDT) or when fully allocated.
*Only 60 participants can join, so register early! A waitlist will be available once tickets are fully allocated. If you can no longer participate, please let us know as soon as possible.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable fee of $23 is required upon registration, with all proceeds donated to charity (TBA). If you’re experiencing financial difficulties or are unable to pay this fee, please reach out to programs@awsn.org.au—we would still love you to participate.
*Important Notes*
This event is for high school girls who identify as female and live within Australia.
All volunteers and trainers involved at the event hold a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Any personal details collected during the registration process will be used exclusively by AWSN for communication and emergency purposes.
Meals and refreshments will be provided on-site. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when you register so we can accommodate them.
Parents are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the venue.
There is a general no-refund policy for this event. If you are unable to attend, please inform us at programs@awsn.org.au at least 48 hours before the event starts.
