Event description

Join us on Sunday 17 November to explore the stunning new Connecting Trails at Quarry Hills Parkland.

The City of Whittlesea recently completed 4.5 kilometres of new walking and cycling trails offering beautiful views of the city and mountain ranges. The trails connect you to key lookout points and allow exploration of an important place to the traditional owners of the land, the Wurundjeri Willum Clan.

Each walk will be hosted by a guide covering a different theme and will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and bring water along for the journey. Please consider your abilities before booking as the trail has some steep sections.

10.15 AM

Birds of the Park - Join the Birds of the Parkland walk for a fun adventure spotting colourful birds, learning their calls and uncovering the secrets of our feathered friends.

The meeting place for all walks is Mortar Ridge in Mernda, with signage to help you find your way. View the directions here https://maps.app.goo.gl/MNgNmxxUxUShCQMs5

While you can sign up for one of our four guided walks, you’re welcome to come along and enjoy the morning from 10:00 AM even if you’re not joining a walk. There will be free coffee, Eucalyptus tea tasting and information about the parkland’s major projects.

If you are unable to attend, please contact us to let us know or cancel your booking as there is a waitlist of other people excited to join.

Please contact us with any enquiries at Sustainability.Planning@whittlesea.vic.gov.au or call 03 9217 2170.
