Discovering the Healthy Self: Building Skills for Recovery is a 5-week online program for Victorian residents in recovery over the age of 18.
In this online program, you will have the opportunity to explore a variety of topics in a group setting. Over five weeks, you can expect a balance of education, reflection and discussion to support you in your recovery journey, with a participant guide and additional resources provided throughout the program.

Dates: Thursday evenings, from 6pm - 7:30pm
Session 1 – Thursday 15th October
Session 2 – Thursday 22nd October
Session 3 – Thursday 29th October
Session 4 – Thursday 5th November
Session 5 – Thursday 12th November
Where: Online via Zoom
Cost: Free to attend!
Participation: You are welcome to participate in a way that feels comfortable for you, and we will do our best to create a supportive space for sharing and discussion. If you have any concerns about participating in this program please contact us at education@eatingdisorders.org.au to discuss.
Who: This program is for anyone over the age of 18 who is experiencing an eating disorder and navigating recovery. You do not need a formal diagnosis to attend this program. Please note that due to funding requirements, we can only provide this program to residents of Victoria.
Your Facilitators:
Abbey (she/her)
Abbey has worked in the mental health space for over five years, and is proud to be a Senior Education Officer at EDV. Having personally experienced and recovered from an eating disorder, Abbey is deeply passionate about advocating for mental health awareness, and is committed to empowering individuals and communities to learn more about, and feel confident in their understanding of eating disorders.
Brittany (she/her)
Brittany is an Education Officer with Eating Disorders Victoria and has a background in psychology and has been engaged in the eating disorder sector for over 5 years. Brittany has lived experience of an eating disorder, and since recovering she seeks to connect with others to provide psychoeducation, hope and resources to support their journey to recovery.
Bri (she/they)
Bri is a Peer Worker with Eating Disorders Victoria. They have a lived experience of recovery from an eating disorder and other mental health challenges. They aim to facilitate peer relationships and community spaces that validate and value our whole selves. She is passionate about creativity and conversations that bring new understandings.
Next steps: Once you have registered, a member of the Education team will reach out to connect with you two weeks before the program is due to commence. This is to confirm your registration, share some more information about the program, and to answer any questions you might have.
