Dispatches from the Far South in Burnie
Description
The Far South is changing rapidly. We have already seen warming oceans and vast decreases in sea ice coverage. The future state of our climate depends on what happens next.
Join us for a special Island of Ideas talk in Burnie with physical oceanographer Dr Edward Doddridge as he takes us to the vast and rapidly changing ocean surrounding Antarctica.
Drawing on historic Antarctic expeditions, satellite observations and supercomputer modelling, Ed will reveal how changes in the Far South are reshaping ocean systems across the globe.
