Diverse & Proud: Community Co-Design - Normalising Mental Health Conversations for Diverse Communities
Event description
The issue:
In this challenging world, those of us that identify as migrants or from other marginalised backgrounds face intersectional challenges - not just mental health struggles of daily life, but racial trauma from having to face ongoing racism, discrimination or microaggressions. Therapy and access to mental health services are essential, however, we acknowledge the gap for safe spaces for young people from these communities to simply be heard and acknowledged.
The invitation:
We are inviting passionate individuals and community groups that serve migrant or marginalised communities to co-design this project with us. We have already piloted what these conversations may look like, and we would like you to have a taster, and contribute your feedback and vision for what would serve your communities best in order to normalise mental health conversations.
Event format:
- 6pm-7pm - prototype conversation facilitated by qualified counsellor
- 7pm-8pm - feedback and co-design
