Diverse food forest with over 100 fruit and nut trees. PermieBlitz with BBQ

This month’s Permaculture Connect Inc. meetup takes us to a wonderfully diverse property on 1.7 acres in Chuwar.
Our host, Leo, has made significant progress in planting a wonderfully diverse food forest with over 100 fruit and nut trees. There’s also a bush tucker food forest and all of it is supported by fish scale swales and smart water retention.
Leo is currently busy exhibiting in the pisciculture category at the Ekka, as he has over 200 IBCs and ponds for his fish breeding and mozzie control.
Leo would like some advice on plant guilds in the food forest, as well as some help weeding and mulching the food forest. There are also some ice cream bean trees that need to be removed and replaced with 30 fruit trees currently in pots.
This is a hugely educational connect with a side of working bee so please bring some boots and energy so we can lend a hand. We’ve extended the time of this one from 12-4 to fit it all in. Our host is cooking us a sausage sizzle to make sure we last the distance! You can duck in and out of course but let’s give our host a hand with his projects.
He also has chooks, bees and a hot composting system so if these float your boat, he’s happy to chat about how he’s making it all work.
