Divesting from climate destruction: How to stop banks funding fossil fuel expansion

The fossil fuel industry is exploiting women in low-income countries and violating their rights. Coal, oil, and gas projects are polluting the environment, killing food and income sources, and harming local people’s health. Experts say there's no room for any new fossil fuels, and big Australian banks in Australia like ANZ have signed on to global commitments to support the Paris Agreement's goal of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees. 

But at the same time, these big banks are using loopholes to enable Australian-owned fossil fuel companies like Santos and Woodside to aggressively expand in places like Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and Senegal, as well as here in Australia.
