Divine Tropika Los Angeles
Event description
ABOUT
Divine Tropika is a one-night multi-sensory ceremonial sacred gathering. This unique event aims to unite Queer Asian and Pacific Islander creatives for an unforgettable evening of connection, play, and exploration through art, music, and movement. This celebration is committed to advocating for Queer liberation and expression. We support this movement by donating a portion of our proceeds to organizations that align with our values.
Co-mrkt’s mission is to amplify, uplift, and unite AAPI creators so that they have a chance to thrive by creating space, promoting integration and increasing visibility. Through their events and activations, co-mrkt puts emerging, local Asian American and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs and small businesses at the forefront. Creating space where the AAPI community can feel seen, heard and empowered to live authentically without fear.
Dress up, dress down, show up in any and all the ways that resonate with you. This space is for us to be and embody the fullness of our creative human expression.
VENUE DETAILS
We chose the First Unitarian Church of LA to hold this year’s experience because of their history in Tongva Land's social justice activism. Uncoincidentally, last year for our first Divine Tropika, we were in the basement of a church and this year we are on the surface. The symbolism is so real.
