Event description

ABOUT

Divine Tropika is a one-night multi-sensory ceremonial sacred gathering. This unique event aims to unite Queer Asian and Pacific Islander creatives for an unforgettable evening of connection, play, and exploration through art, music, and movement. This celebration is committed to advocating for Queer liberation and expression. We support this movement by donating a portion of our proceeds to organizations that align with our values.

Co-mrkt’s mission is to amplify, uplift, and unite AAPI creators so that they have a chance to thrive by creating space, promoting integration and increasing visibility. Through their events and activations, co-mrkt puts emerging, local Asian American and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs and small businesses at the forefront. Creating space where the AAPI community can feel seen, heard and empowered to live authentically without fear.

Dress up, dress down, show up in any and all the ways that resonate with you. This space is for us to be and embody the fullness of our creative human expression.

VENUE DETAILS

We chose the First Unitarian Church of LA to hold this year’s experience because of their history in Tongva Land's social justice activism. Uncoincidentally, last year for our first Divine Tropika, we were in the basement of a church and this year we are on the surface. The symbolism is so real.

As we are still in pandemic times, we encourage everyone to prioritize their well-being and to show up in the ways they feel comfortable. If that means masking during the event or leaving early, please do so.

COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS

We understand that none of us have it all together. When we do misstep and make mistakes, we are accountable and commit to practices that allow us to be and do better.

IN OUR HOUSE WE

RESPECT THE SPACE
We care for the space as we would our own home.
PRACTICE COMMUNAL CARE
We prioritize the well-being of ourselves and each other.
HONOR WITH CONSENT
We honor each others divinity, boundaries, and personal space.
LET GO OF EXPECTATIONS
We are gathering for connection not perfection.
TAKE UP SPACE
The fullness of our human expression is welcome here.

IN ANY OF OUR SPACES — HATE, HARM, AND DISRESPECT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

We look forward to being in ceremony and celebration with you!
