Family Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali Workshop

About This EventBandi Chhor Divas celebrates the release of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and 52 Kings from prison. A day where right prevailed over wrong and where we commemorate Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji's selflessness in putting the freedom of all others ahead of himself.Bandi Chhor Divas coincides with the day of Diwali. Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism.
To celebrate this we will be holding an online family event where parents can accompany their children to:
- Learn more about Bandi Chhor Divas in Sikh History
- Decorate a Diwa (Lantern)
- Make a greeting card for you to give to a special person in your family
- Listen to a story
- Participate in a quiz
Once you register for you and your child/ren you will receive a gift delivered to you to help you participate in the workshop. However, kids are encouraged to use any materials they have at home to get creative.
Parent supervision will be needed on the day to assist children to participate in this workshop.
