DIY Plant Tissue Sampling Training
Event description
DIY Plant Tissue Sampling Training
Discover expert techniques for collecting plant tissue samples effectively. Tissue analysis is an important management tool used to assess the nutritional status of plants. It helps identify deficiencies, especially in trace elements, that are critical for pasture growth and maintaining animal health.
At this training session, Graham Mussell, local agronomist will demonstrate how to take accurate plant tissue samples and facilitate an open discussion on the benefits of assessing nutrient status in pasture.
Why plant tissue testing matters?
Plant tissue testing offers a proactive approach to nutrient management. It can be used as a diagnostic, monitoring or predictive tool. For example by identifying specific deficiencies before symptoms appear, farmers can make targeted fertiliser applications. This not only improves pasture productivity but also enhances the nutritional quality of feed for livestock, supporting better health and wellbeing. .
NOTE: 2024/25 Soil Testing Program participants receive FREE analysis of FOUR samples of plant material and a FREE interpretation of the results and a recomendation from an agronomist. You can use your FOUR FREE sample bags to determine the nutrient status of four different paddocks, or to compare areas within a paddock that have poor or good performing pasture.
Attend the training session to receive your sampling kits.
