    Event description

    Join this hybrid workshop online or face-to-face!

    You can choose to either:

    • participate online from work or home from anywhere in Australia, or
    • join with us at a local face to face venue, meeting with local doctors' health colleagues with your local doctors' health service.

    Learning Outcomes for the Workshop

    1. Identify strategies for self-care.
    2. Understanding how to be a doctors' GP
    3. Recognise the barriers that doctors experience when accessing formal health care.
    4. Learn more about burnout, moral injury and PTSD and their impact in medicine.
    5. Deepen your understanding about mandatory notification (inc. the difference in WA).
    6. Learn about rural doctors' health - barriers and impact of workplaces.
    7. Evaluate and manage suicide risk when the patient is a doctor.
    8. Gain strategies for supporting doctors, accessing resources and knowing how to connect with your local doctors' health service for ongoing support.

    The program has been written by the Planning Committee including:

    • Dr Margaret Kay AM, General Practitioner and Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, UQ
    • Dr Kathryn Hutt, Medical Director, Doctors' Health NSW
    • Dr Roger Sexton AM, Chair, Doctors' Health Alliance & Medical Director, Doctors' Health SA 
    • Individual presentations are prepared by the speaker as listed on the program

    Face to Face workshop venues are located in the following cities:

    • Adelaide (Doctors' Health SA)
    • Perth (Doctors Health Advisory Service Western Australia)
    • Hobart (DRS4DRS Tasmania)
    • Melbourne (Victorian Doctors Health Program)
    • Sydney (Doctors' Health NSW), and 
    • Canberra (DRS4DRS ACT)

    *Select location via ticket face to face options when registering.

    **Online ticket holders will receive a Zoom link a few days prior to the workshop.

    Time Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST)Commences 10.00am, concludes 2.00pm (both hybrid & local hubs - please convert to your state/territory time if needed)

    Target group:

    Experienced urban, rural and remote doctors who currently see doctors as patients, or doctors who have an interest in doctors' health.

    Points & Certificate:

    **A Certification of Completion will be provided to all participants who attend the National workshop.

    ***CPD - We encourage you to record your own CPD for this Forum in your CPD home - 1 hour of Education Activities and 3 hours of Reviewing Performance activities for this workshop. If you also complete the 2 hr online modules, then you can also claim these as additional CPD time.
