The Church

Doctrine and Doxology is a conference that seeks to connect the truth of God's Word with the worship it produces. 

This February we turn our attention to the doctrine of "The Church". What is a church? We probably know enough to know it isn't really a building, but what is it? How is it defined? Why would that matter? Why is Jesus committed to building it? 

The modern church has replaced careful investigation of God's Word to understand how God's people ought to structure their lives together, for personal preferences and pragmatism. But when God gives us the church he really does mean something, and he intends something. This February at Doctrine & Doxology, we have Mark Dever coming to share how the church displays the glory of God.

Mark Dever has been the Senior Pastor of Capitol Hill Baptist Church for 30 years. Author of many books including "Nine Marks of a Healthy Church". He is the President of Nine Marks Ministries.
