Description

Documentation as Practice-reorienting our thinking about documentation as a critical form of practice and intervention.

Workshop 1 –  online workshop

10am-12pm

Case note documentation is not ‘admin’: the way people’s lives are documented by practitioners in systems has implications for interventions, service responses and clients’ identities and stories.

This workshop will challenge the idea of relegating this form of practice to an afterthought or an admin task. We need to re-orient our thinking about documentation as a critical form of practice and intervention.

Learning Outcomes:

Workshop day 1

  • Re-orient our thinking about the purpose and implications of case notes and written practice.
  • Revising our case note documentation from feminist intersectional and anti-oppressive frameworks.
  • Case examples and practice through reflective activities.
  • Demonstrate how collaborative documentation is a survivor-centred approach that results in more dignifying and safer care, response, and notes.
  • Explore collaborative documentation and discuss best practices for process and context.
