Does how I talk to myself really matter? Understanding the relationship between self-talk and our motivation
Event description
Have you ever noticed that the way that you talk to yourself can be very critical and judgmental at times? Do you feel that you need to be this critical towards yourself to feel motivated and to perform at your best?
While we can often think that being very self-critical is necessary to better ourselves, it can often sabotage us and leave us with an increased fear of failure, loss of faith in ourselves and poor performance.
In this new group run by a Psychology & Wellness, we will be exploring the impact of our critical self-talk on how we feel and behave, focusing on our motivation and studies. We hope that by attending this group, you will gain more awareness of how your own self-talk is impacting you, along with developing some useful tools that you can use to respond to your critical self-talk when it is trying to give you a hard time or holding you back from pursuing your goals.
This group will be run in person and will be broken down into two parts across two weeks. We encourage you to attend both sessions so that you can get the most benefit from the group. One General Admission ticket will give you access to both sessions.
Registration is essential.
Week 1: Tuesday 11th October, 11am to 12pm (registration from 10:45am)
