Domestic and Family Violence Candlelight Vigil 2025

Please join us as we honour the lives lost to domestic and family violence and express our support to the families of victims. Together, we will reflect on the impact of this crisis and reaffirm the importance of the work to be done to save lives and ensure that women and children can live free from violence and fear.

The lighting of candles symbolises remembrance, hope, and our collective commitment to end men’s violence against women and children.

Please stand with us and show our shared commitment to strive for promotion and protection of women’s and children’s rights, interests and wellbeing all year round.

Time: From 5.30pm for a 6pm start

About the Vigil:

The Candlelight Vigil will take place on National Family Violence Remembrance Day, Wednesday 7 May, 2025, coinciding with Domestic Violence Prevention Month.

Please note:

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander attendees are warned that the Vigil may contain images or stories of people who have passed away.

It will also contain stories of domestic and family abuse, which may be triggering for some participants.
