Donate to RCIMN - Sponsor A Tour Guide

Event description

Contribute to the training and employment costs of a Refugee Camp in my Neighbourhoood (RCIMN) Tour Guide.

It’s not easy to share real-life stories of one’s own refugee journey but the Tour Guides at Refugee Camp in my Neighbourhood do that every year.

Our tour guides range in age from newly arrived, young people to highly skilled professionals - trained doctors, archeologists, engineers, lawyers, teachers, fashion designers and more - all who share their incredible stories and spirit of resilience.

For many of our Tour Guides, their work on Refugee Camp in my Neighbourhood is a first-time experience of formal paid work in Australia.

A longitudinal study identified that a major impact for Tour Guides taking part in RCIMN was the local work experience and subsequently enhanced employment opportunities that they gained as the result of taking part.

Our project is run, managed and delivered by a volunteer Working Group and a range of community partners.

You can support Refugee Camp in my Neighbourhood by donating to Sponsor a Tour Guide funds that pay the salaries of Tour Guides each year.

Find out more about the project at refugeecampauburn.com.au or follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram.
