Home Run Derby & Movie Night - Sunday, May 4th
Step up to the plate for an unforgettable evening at our Home Run Derby! Join us on Sunday, May 4th, for a thrilling competition where you can compete in your own bracket and swing for the fences. Whether you’re a seasoned hitter or just looking for some fun, this event is open to all ages!
Event Details:
- $20 per entry, 5 pitches
- Participants can use USSA bats, torpedo bats, or anything that lets your player crush the ball
- Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division (T-Ball through Adults)
Event Schedule:
- Majors and Juniors - on the Majors Field 5-7 pm
- Farm and Minors - on the Minors Field 5-7 pm
- T-Ball and Coast - on Coast Field 5-7 pm
- Parents and Coaches (and anyone over 16) - on Juniors Field 5-7pm
- Sunset screening of The Sandlot movie on the field (sunset)
Format and Scoring:
- Every batter receives 5 pitches from a machine (Farm through Adults) or 5 hits off a Tee (T-Ball and Coast)
- Each player will be scored on a point system, based on where the ball first lands:
- Infield grass = 1 pt
- Infield dirt = 2 pts
- Outfield = 5 pts
- Over the fence home run = 10 pts (we will have a shorter fence line for T-ball and Coast)
- Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each division (T-Ball through Adults)
After the derby, stick around for a sunset screening of The Sandlot on the big screen under the stars! It’s a perfect way to wind down the night with family and friends. Concessions, Kona Ice, and other food will be available for purchase.
Bring the whole family for a night of fun, food, and baseball under the lights. Whether you're swinging for the fences or enjoying a classic baseball movie, it’s a perfect evening to celebrate America’s favorite pastime. All proceeds earned will go to help the DPLL league
