Dots, Dice & Domino Detectives - Family Workshop
Event description
This playful and practical session is designed for students in Years 1 and 2 and their accompanying family adult.

Join us for Dots, Dice & Domino Detectives on Tue 11 Feb at the Nunawading Community Hub.
Each ticket admits one pair of detectives; one family adult and one child. Together we'll build our number power through collaborative activities, games and puzzles.
This workshop is for people who...
- are curious about exploring maths concepts in creative and inclusive ways
- have ever felt intimidated or disconnected from maths, or has family members
- like the idea of practising important maths skills through playful activities
Date & Time:
Tue 11th Feb 2025, 4:30PM - 5:30 PM AEDT
Doors will open at 4:15PM so we can be ready for a prompt start to our workshop!
Participants are welcome to hang around until 6:00PM to continue maths playing a little longer.
Register by 9PM on Monday 3rd Feb or before sold out
What to expect:
- Powerful and Inspiring Ideas: Discover ways to approach maths to build confidence and spark lasting curiosity for children and adults alike.
- Community Learning: Enjoy learning not just from the facilitator, but from each other's mathematical ideas.
- Partner Activities: Each child and their accompanying adult will work together on fun, hands-on tasks designed to spark mathematical curiosity and creativity.
- Guidance and Support: Facilitators will provide clear instructions and helpful tips to ensure everyone feels confident and included.
- (Optional) Extra Play and Chats: After the structured workshop, families are welcome to stay in the space and continue playing with the resources available.
