During this period, a special double-pass ticket is available, allowing visitors to see both exhibitions in a single visit within a two-hour timed entry session:

Spanning nearly a century of artistic innovation, Facing Modernity: Degas to Picasso brings together 37 exceptional paintings and sculptures from the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki never before shown in Australia that capture the radical shifts in art from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.
Audiences will embark on a journey tracing the major art movements of the modern era, from Impressionism and Post-Impressionism to Fauvism, Cubism, Surrealism and post-war abstraction, through works from icons of the age, including Pierre Bonnard, Georges Braque, Paul Cezanne, Salvador Dalí, Paul Gauguin, Barbara Hepworth, Fernand Léger, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso.

Australia’s favourite and most significant art award is coming to Shepparton!
The annual Archibald Prize is eagerly anticipated by artists and audiences alike. Judged by the trustees of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the prize is awarded to the best portrait painting. Since 1921, it has highlighted figures from all walks of life, from famous faces to local heroes, reflecting back to us the stories of our times.
This touring exhibition from the Art Gallery of New South Wales is an opportunity to see the finalists in the Archibald Prize 2026.

- Which exhibition do I view first with my double-pass ticket?
If you have a strong preference for viewing Facing Modernity or the Archibald Prize 2026 first, we recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your timeslot and let our Visitor Hosts know when you arrive. Once one of the exhibitions reaches capacity, the next visitors to arrive are guided to the alternate exhibition.
- How much time do I have to view both exhibitions?
Double-pass tickets follow timed-entry every two hours, giving you a two-hour window to see Facing Modernity and the Archibald Prize 2026. Most visitors will be able to enjoy each exhibition in less than 1 hour.
- Does my double-pass ticket allow me to see one exhibition, then take a break for coffee/lunch, and come back later to see the second exhibition?
Once you have finished viewing the exhibition, you are welcome to take a break; however, please note the two-hour time slot provided for viewing both exhibitions.
If you would like to see both exhibitions on the same day but intend to take an extended break for coffee or lunch, we recommend you book single tickets for each exhibition at your preferred time slots.
