Description

This online webinar will be delivered by Prof Anika Gauja, UTS Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research) and former ARC Executive Director (Social, Behavioural and Economic Sciences) where she was responsible for overseeing the Discovery Projects scheme, amongst others. Drawing on her extensive ARC insights into typical factors for application success or failure, the session aims to equip shortlisted UTS DP27 applicants with unique insights and strategies to craft a compelling and competitive project description and budget for the second stage of the DP assessment process, Full Applications. The following topics will be covered:

  • Knowing your audience/assessors - in particular, interpreting the clues provided by the EOI panel allocation that is communicated to applicants in EOI feedback;

  • Understanding the DP assessment process;

  • Common mistakes - e.g. underestimating the full application, now you’ve been shortlisted;

  • Budgeting, value for money and feasibility;

  • Frequently raised assessor criticism on previous UTS DP applications and how to avoid them.

There will be an opportunity for a short Q&A at the end of the session.

This session will be held online via Teams. The session will also be recorded, with the recording being made available after the event.
