Description
When disasters occur, communities are better supported when local people are trained and ready to help.
Learn the skills needed to support your community in evacuation and recovery centres during and after disasters. This practical and engaging training provides the core knowledge required for Anglicare Disaster Recovery volunteer roles and helps build local resilience and preparedness. No previous experience required.
This workshop covers all the required training for Disaster Recovery volunteers in one session.
*Participants who wish to volunteer with Anglicare Disaster Recovery will also need to complete a volunteer application, Working With Children Check, and National Police Check.
You'll learn the essentials of the Anglicare Disaster Recovery role, including:
What volunteers may be asked to do
How evacuation and recovery centres operate and,
How this fits into the NSW Emergency Management system
Recognising risks
Responding to different needs
Maintaining safe environments
Speaking up when something is unsafe or inappropriate
